Customized strength and fitness training

No matter where you are on your fitness journey, we can get you where you want to be!

The combination of our proven training system, high-quality coaching, and women-only model is designed to get results in the fastest and safest way possible. We know how to get results and can help anyone from grandmothers to elite athletes achieve their health and fitness goals.

We approach every client individually, sit down with you to do a preliminary movement assessment and learn about your goals before tailoring a program for you.

Personalized training is the heart of what we do at TNB-Fitness. This means that you’ll be working out with a small group of 2-3 other women. You’ll enjoy a reduced rate for your personal training and make new friends while receiving the coaching, motivation and accountability that you need in order to achieve your individual goals.

We offer training programs from a minimum of 4 months to 12 months or longer, depending on your goals and commitment level. Most clients meet us 2-4 times per week, and training sessions are typically 60 minutes long.

Our personalized training memberships include:

  • 2-4 personalized training sessions each week

  • nutrition coaching

  • monthly program design

  • Functional movement screen

  • 20% of monthly fee supports lower-income women in the New Beginnings program

  • Unlimited InBody scans (a $40 value each time)

We can determine at your assessment what arrangement will be the best approach for you. Set one up and find out! Call 615-432-2579 or fill out this form.

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

Why we assess

As infants we are limber and symmetrical beings. Over time, we develop muscle imbalances and asymmetries - a normal part of living - but these can make us more prone to injury and less efficient in our movement.  The Functional Movement Screen is designed specifically to ferret out those inefficiencies. If any of the seven movements tested is mechanically unsound, this indicates that asymmetry or a limitation exists somewhere. The FMS is different from other posture and flexibility screenings because it focuses on dynamic movement.  Movement is an indicator of how a body is working and it lets us know what the brain is telling the body to do and how the muscles and joints are communicating with each other.

The FMS helps us prevent injuries before they occur by identifying risk factors which appear within faulty movement patterns. By not addressing these poor movement patterns chances are greater that they’ll catch up to you.  No one moves perfectly and anyone can benefit from being screened.

What to expect for your FMS Screening

This isn’t a self assessment you can do at home. You will need a professional to administer the FMS, one that has been certified and gone through the training. The screen itself will only take about fifteen minutes but you can expect to spend about 45 minutes to an hour with us on your first visit.

First we will sit down and discuss your goals, your expectations, your lifestyle, and your injury and training history. We want to hear all about why you made your way to us so we can figure out the best way to help. After chatting we will administer the screen. It’s a seven-part test that looks at the mobility and stability of the hips, core, shoulders, knees, spine, and ankles. With this baseline of abilities and through re-screening later along your journey with us we can then have a consistent measure of progress. Wear comfortable workout clothes to your screen that allow you to move freely. The movements can seem a bit awkward but that is by design - each isolates a different part of the body to prevent you from hiding weakness and compensating and allowing us to see clearly what is happening. The fee for a Functional Movement Screen and initial consultation that includes body composition testing and a copy of our nutrition manual is $100, however this will be waived when you sign up for any of our personalized training memberships. Click the link below to schedule your FMS.

INBODY 770

At TNB-Fitness, we believe that progress can be made in more ways than one. The scale you see at home is not always the best predicator of success. In other words, you can gain muscle and lose fat and have NO change on the scale. That might be discouraging to most people. But the InBody scan gives each person a better picture of what’s really going on.

After your FMS assessment, we take you through a quick and easy InBody Scan. This machine measures your entire body composition, including water levels, muscle mass, body fat, where you hold this weight, and more. It gives you easy ways to track your progress by:

  • Correlating your improved strength by increased muscle mass

  • Displaying your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and showing you how many calories you burn/day.

  • Showing your relationship between muscle mass and body fat

  • Explaining the importance of daily hydration

  • Relating your imbalances in your FMS Screen to your muscle imbalances in the InBody Scan

    And MORE!

Remember, this information is INCLUDED in your initial assessment! Learn more about the InBody Scan here.

Nutrition Coaching

All of our memberships include nutrition coaching. You will receive our nutrition guide when you start.  We'll sit down with you and explain each habit and then ask you to log your food and bring it with you to your workouts. Then we'll assess your current eating habits and ask you to work on one new habit at a time until you're comfortable with it. We will work with you to individualize your nutrition program to meet your needs and goals.

Not able to join us on location?  That's okay!  We offer online nutrition coaching for remote clients!  We will work with you to understand your personal nutrition goals, challenges, and approach changing one habit at a time, for a manageable and maintainable lifestyle change resulting in success.  It's not a sprint - it's a marathon approach!  For more information please see our Online Coaching page.
