Melinda is a Nashville-based actor, singer, and personal trainer.
Melinda was raised by Haitian immigrant parents in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She attended Yale University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies.
The day after she graduated she started fire academy, working as a firefighter and research coordinator in Maryland and DC. After a year, she began medical school at Meharry Medical College. She completed two years of instruction then two years of critical care research at Vanderbilt University before realizing she was more excited about healing through fitness and storytelling than medicine.
Ashley was born and raised in Michigan, where her love for sports and being outdoors took up most of Ashley’s time. She attended Taylor University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa to receive a bachelors in Exercise Science. Following graduation in 2017, Ashley completed an internship at Deep Relief // Peak Performance in Maui, working with athletes from the novice to Olympic levels. She moved back to Michigan in 2018 and teamed up with Arkfeld Advanced Chiropractic to create a rehabilitation and sports performance program for athletes in the community. Ashley’s passion for health and fitness became more apparent after living in Hawaii and trying to become a better surfer! She became much more aware of how my diet and training was affecting the way that she surfed, “My love for training grew even more after spending time in a refugee camp in Greece, playing soccer with kids residing there. I discovered that fitness, whether it be in the gym, on the field, in the clinic, or inside of a refugee camp, can serve as an outlet that not only encourages a healthy lifestyle, but also has the ability to impact people in every aspect of their lives”. This is something that Ashley truly loves to do and is excited for this next step in Nashville.
