How long have you been a member of TNBFITNESS?

What attracted you to TNBFITNESS/What motivated you to join TNB?

I was in pain and needed to get better. I was in physical therapy thinking about why I was waking up every night in pain and desperately wanted to feel better and get moving in the right way. I had been an athlete all my life, and a runner for most of my adult life, but I was hurting and was unsure why. I was actually scared for the first time that I was doing real damage to my body. I wanted expertise, structure, and accountability, both for exercise and for nutrition, and I felt as though TNB could provide those and more.

How do you feel now compared to when you started training at TNB?

Like a million bucks! I am stronger, more flexible, and slimmer. I am pain free (enormously important).  I also feel as though I am exercising smarter. I never get bored. I still enjoy running 2 days per week, but I hardly ever miss a workout at TNB because I am incredibly energized by them. Not to mention that I have fun. I laugh and enjoy the company of the folks there, both clients and trainers. It’s a very warm, comfortable atmosphere, while everyone still works incredibly hard.

How has TNB helped you reach your goals?

I think that starting with the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and finding my weaknesses and asymmetries, followed by specifically tailored workouts that have given me a step-wise progression to reach particular fitness goals (push-ups, lifting a certain weight, etc). TNB provides structure and accountability but I am never bored because the workouts and expectations evolve to match my progress and keep me challenged.

What advice would you give to a person looking to join TNB?

What are you waiting for?!?!? One piece of advice I give (and have taken myself) is that no one “has time” for exercise, so we must ALL have to “make time” if some folks are doing it. There will never be a magic day when an hour of time leaps out at you as “free time” for exercise. But if you look at it as an investment in yourself, both short-term and long-term, it’s easy to make room for it. It beats the heck out of the health consequences of NOT exercising. And it is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I am never sorry I worked out, and since I am a morning client, the days I get my workout in early are particularly energetic days for me all day long.

I am a dedicated client, but I am also a physician and deal with diabetes in particular, among other diseases. I talk with people a lot about nutrition and exercise. I have exercised my entire life, but I have never felt as well trained and strong as I do right now, in terms of total body health. I have recommended TNB to friends and patients and have absolute confidence in this “product.” Tash and Gabe are clearly professionals, and are also constantly learning themselves. Their advice evolves based both on my progress and my needs but also on what they are learning all the time about fitness.  I know I am in good hands.
